Within the scope of the Ambarlı Wastewater Tunnel
Construction project, which is one of the most important parts of the Ambarlı
Environmental Protection Project, which was carried into effect with the intent
of preventing the wastewater entry from the west and north sides of Istanbul
Küçükçekmece Lake to the lake and from the Ambarlı Region Coasts to the Marmara
Sea; the construction of a 4,829 m long tunnel with an inner diameter of 3,600
mm and an excavation diameter of 4,500 mm and three shafts with a diameter of 9
m were completed with the TBM method. With this tunnel, wastewater in the
region is collected at Ambarlı Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant.
